When an emergency occurs, remain calm and dial 9-1-1 immediately! Carefully follow the instructions from the 9-1-1 operator, as s/he can provide life-saving information over the phone while emergency vehicles are on the way to you. The following tips will help you in an emergency.

• Do not move an injured victim unless they are in danger of further harm.
• Loosen tight clothing from the victim while waiting for help to arrive.
• Send someone to meet the ambulance and direct them in, if possible.
• Put away all pets so that they won't interfere with emergency workers.
• If possible, get the victim's prescription medicines together for paramedics.
