 911 / EMS Role

Brunswick County Emergency Services includes two agencies: 9-1-1 Central Communications and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

9-1-1 Central Communications

Central Communications (C-COMM) was founded in 1992 to provide enhanced 9-1-1 and emergency dispatching services for Brunswick County's law enforcement agencies, fire departments, rescue squads, and Emergency Medical Services. Central Communication also provides emergency medical dispatch to callers reporting medical emergencies.

Emergency Medical Services

The Emergency Medical Services department also was started in 1992 to aid local rescue squads in the provision of emergency care and ambulance transport. Today, Emergency Medical Services supplies paramedic ambulance service for Brunswick County, while volunteer rescue squads provide quick response, basic transport, and special rescue in towns and rural communities. (Contact individual volunteer rescue squads for more information about their services.) Several local fire departments also provide quick response to medical emergencies.
